Heritage
Gun Shows’ first show was in 1987 in New
Bern, NC, The East
Carolina Gun and Knife Show. We don’t even remember where we got the idea,
because we’re too dang old. We do remember that it all kind of gelled in Al’s
living room one warm afternoon. Unfortunately we missed Ohio, so after our
spring show in 1989, we moved back home. The East Carolina Gun and Knife Show
is now just a footnote in history, as the new promoter expanded greatly. The
old show is now run by S & D Shows, with gun shows in six locations.
Although we
continued to hold an FFL and set up at shows back in Ohio, we didn’t work on promotions again until
2008, when Heritage’s first Cambridge Gun Show was held. Heritage Gun Shows now
holds shows twice a year in Cambridge, Ohio and three times a year in Mansfield, Ohio. In between, we set up at the Massillon Gun Show each time it's held, and also do a lot of shooting.
Heritage
Gun Shows is committed to America’s
firearms freedoms as set forth in the Second Amendment; to the on-going
education of gun owners and non-gun owners alike in the safe handling and use
of firearms; and to the education of non-gun owners in the right of all
Americans to keep and bear arms. We strongly support the National Rifle
Association and encourage all who believe in freedom to do the same.
We are
pleased to be a Christian business and give thanks to God for our many
blessings, and for sacrificing His Son Jesus Christ that we might be forgiven
of our sins.
